Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Casa Do Arco in Sintra, I found a spot that offers simplicity in the midst of luxury, which is quite a rarity these days. Located conveniently near historic sites like the Quinta de Regalaria and the National Palace, this gem allowed for easy travel, particularly if you're keen on exploring local castles. The rooms, though modest, provided comfort without unnecessary extravagance. My suite had a pleasing view of the woods and was impeccably clean, featuring essential amenities like tea and coffee facilities. A personal touch was present through the helpful staff, who felt more like family than employees. One highlight was the breakfast served in the tranquil garden. While you shouldn't expect gourmet offerings, the homely ambiance made up for it. The extensive breakfast options were reasonably priced, aligning well with the overall value of the stay. Given its historical context as one of the oldest hotels in Iberia, the Casa Do Arco delivers a unique experience, skillfully blending charm with accessibility. For those traveling on a budget seeking comfort with character, this hotel is a wise choice.
